New Westminster Chiropractor | Dr. Wayne Jakeman
“I love what I do, honestly. Being a chiropractor, I have been blessed to have the privilege of helping others every day of my life.”
Choosing The Chiropractic Career Path
I have no amazing story, I was just a young man who had finished his undergraduate degree in Science with a major in Zoology and a minor in Psychology, trying to figure out what he wanted to do with his life. It was suggested to me, “Why not Chiropractic?”
So, I traveled across Canada to attend the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. Still unsure, I entered the program and by the end of first term, I discovered this was what I wanted to do. Studying the complexity of the human organism was amazing and then learning how it is controlled by your nervous system was eye-opening and sealed the decision to be a chiropractor.
I practice Chiropractic in the hopes of helping others achieve their greatest potential as human beings. It is most often first about getting rid of a pain or a symptom, but my hope for every practice member is that they learn that Chiropractic is so much more than a treatment for back and neck pains. I assure you that I know what it is like to be in horrific pain as I spent 8 months of my life still working in practice with excruciating neck and arm pain and as a result of my profession and youthful athletics I suffer with recurrrent back pains. Chiropractic has helped me heal thyself.
In my 20 years, I have become exceptional at dealing with most physical complaints, but my greatest joy comes from working with practice members who embrace chiropractic and make a commitment to the Art of Living Well. Patients actually do experience not only feeling better physically, but they experience greater joy, improved whole body function, and mental clarity. The relationships that form during that time are enriching for me. When practice members commit to that, I know they will have a higher Quality of Life and more than likely experience a longer, fuller life.
Staying Happy and Healthy
I have been married for 11 years to my beautiful wife Kim and we share the love of our amazing 10-year-old daughter Olivia. I spend much of my down time being the normal father, taxi driver, coach and fan for Olivia as she keeps busy with her many activities. I love spending time in Nature and the three of us enjoy traveling when ever possible.
My sport has always been soccer, but due to injuries I had to quit over a decade ago. Now I maintain my physical health swimming, doing Crossfit, and cycling with Kim. I have come to really enjoy the cycling. Personally and as a family, we look after our selves by getting adjusted regularly, for my self weekly is my goal. We work hard to eat as much organic foods as possible, we take supplements and maintain a diet with very little wheat or dairy.
Enough about me! I hope you will consider meeting with me in person but go ahead and read our What to Expect page.
When we meet I promise to listen carefully and give you my best so that you may experience the life changing benefits of Chiropractic.
